A Book Can Be A Best Friend

"All the Bright Places"

Growing up as an only child, my parents expected there to be little noise throughout the house. As a result, I had to find quiet ways to entertain myself, which included reading. I personally like reading because, growing up, it enhanced my imagination and helped me to find friends on the pages when I was alone.

The picture above is one I took while on a cruise to Bermuda with my family. Which, you know, can get kinda boring sometimes since I don't have any siblings. I need to find simple ways to entertain myself still to this day. I find it funny though how I see other kids running around with their siblings and how I never got to experience that. None of my cousin are my age, so when we went on a family vacation, I always hung out with, guess who, myself. I mean I loved it because it meant that I could have alone time and possibly start another book. I thought of it as starting a new adventure and meeting new people. There are so many positive things about reading and I don't get why so many people refrain from doing it more often! If any of you out there want to try and read some good books, I have a few listed below.

My Top Reads:

  • "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" - Brian Selznick
  • "13 Reasons Why" - Jay Asher
  • "This Is Where It Ends" - Marieke Nijkamp
  • "Everything, Everything" - Nicola Yoon
  • The Uglies Series - Scott Westerfeld
See you in the next post
